The "Believe" hitmaker was unveiled as the star with all the luxury label's autumn/winter 2015 advertising and marketing campaign on the designer's photo-sharing website Instagram account earlier on Thursday.
The photography was captioned: "The amazing and great CHER! Photographed by David Sims for our Fall/Winter campaign. This is only the start.... More to come!! "
It isn't at the first try the New York-born designer has determined a mature model for his efforts.
The former creative director of Lv also selected 71-year-old actress Catherine Deneuve to front his definitive campaign for the Parisian label for 2013.
Other stars to have shown as the face of Marc Jacobs include singer Miley Cyrus since Spice Girl turned fashion designer Éxito Beckham.
